Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year

It's hard to believe the summer is ending for our students and staff. I want to take a moment and welcome all of our new families and those who are returning.

I am excited for everyone to see the new look at Illini West High School. Our building has had a bit of a makeover and I would like to commend our summer staff for a lot of hard work in this area. The addition of heating and cooling to the gym is progressing well, although lead times on equipment will result in the project finishing sometime in the fall. Our sports schedules will not be interrupted, however.

In an effort to improve student behavior, Illini West High School is also debuting a new positive behavior incentive program and we are working to provide students access to mental health professionals on-site for two hours per day.

We are also implementing a new crisis management program that will significantly improve our ability to identify threats, communicate during a crisis and recover after the crisis. More on that in a future post. In addition, we are working on a coordinated regional crisis management plan with other local districts that will expand our ability to support one another.

Registration is currently open and we encourage everyone to register as soon as possible to make the transition to the new year as smooth as possible.
