After having additional time to review the TRO issued regarding the mask mandate and speaking with our district's attorney, I wanted to let you know that masking on all forms of district transportation will again be required beginning, Monday, February 14th. This is being implemented for two reasons:
As a part of complying with the TRO, the district is now using its original Return to School Plan implemented in August. This plan, while mask optional in the schools building, required masking on all forms of school district transportation.
The masking requirement on school buses is the result of a federal Executive Order (13998) which requires a mask to be worn by any operator or passenger traveling on a conveyance within the United States unless otherwise exempted. Conveyances include all road vehicles, including school buses.
