As a school district, the safety of our students, staff, and community is our top priority. In today's world, it's crucial that we are prepared for a wide range of emergencies, from natural disasters to unforeseen threats. Over the next several weeks, I'll be sharing a five-part series that will provide an in-depth look at our district's crisis management plan. This series will outline the five key components of our crisis response protocols: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Shelter, and Evacuate.
Each of these procedures plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of everyone on our campus, and understanding them is essential for our community as a whole. We believe that school safety is a collaborative effort that requires strong partnerships between the district, students, families, and local law enforcement. By engaging in open communication and planning together, we can create a safer, more secure environment for all.
In this series, we will explore the specific steps involved in each of these crisis management protocols, let parents and guardians know what each response means and how they are utilized, and discuss how we can all work together to enhance school safety.
I encourage you to read along, ask questions, and get involved. Together, we can ensure that our schools remain places of learning, growth, and security.
Stay tuned for the first post in our series, where we will discuss the "Lockdown" procedure and how and when it will be used.
If you have any specific topics you would like to have addressed during this series, please feel free to share you questions with me.
